Amoebas
Amoebas are single-celled organisms that live in water or damp soil and feed on bacteria and small particles of organic matter. They are among the simplest forms of life and are found in a variety of environments. Amoebas are important in the food chain, and also have medical uses such as in drug discovery and as a model organism to study the fundamentals of cellular processes. They are also useful in understanding evolutionary relationships between organisms.
