Bone Marrow Cancer
Bone marrow cancer is a group of disorders that affect the cells in the bone marrow, the spongy area inside the bones where blood cells are produced. It is a form of cancer that is characterized by the uncontrolled growth of abnormal cells in the bone marrow that can interfere with the production of healthy blood cells. Affected individuals may suffer from anemia, fatigue, and recurrent infections, as well as bleeding and bruising due to low platelet counts. Bone marrow cancer can be difficult to diagnose and treat and can be life-threatening. Treatment options generally include chemotherapy, radiation therapy, and potentially stem cell transplantation. Early diagnosis and treatment are essential for better outcomes.
