Plant Biochemistry
Plant biochemistry is the study of the chemical and biochemical processes that occur within the cells of plants. This includes the chemical structure and function of molecules, the metabolic pathways by which they are produced, and their interactions. Plant biochemistry plays an important role in the growth and survival of plants as it controls the metabolism of carbohydrates, lipids, and proteins, as well as the transport of essential plant nutrients and hormones. Plant biochemistry is essential in the development of new strategies for crop productivity, pest control, and sustainable agricultural practices. It is also used to study the effects of environmental stresses on plants and to develop approaches to reduce the impact of climate change.
