Neurobiochemistry

Neurobiochemistry is the scientific study of the biochemistry of nerve cells and how molecules, such as proteins and lipids, affect the nervous system. By studying the biochemical basis of nerve cells, neurobiochemists can provide insight into the causes of diseases, as well as develop treatments and therapies to improve neurological conditions. Neurobiochemistry also plays an important role in basic neuroscience research, helping scientists to better understand how the nervous system works and how it is affected by the environment. The research findings of neurobiochemists are used to develop strategies for treating ailments, ranging from brain injuries to neurodegenerative diseases.
