Overview
Drug molecules are chemical compounds that are used to treat, cure, prevent, or diagnose medical conditions. They are composed of atoms and molecules which interact with biological targets to produce desired effects. Drug molecules can influence a range of physiological processes, ranging from pain relief and relief from symptoms of diseases, to curing of diseases and prevention of further progression of diseases. They are an essential part of modern medicine, and can have life-saving effects on individuals suffering from illnesses or diseases. Drug molecules can also be used to improve quality of life via enhancement of activity levels, relief from pain, and improved longevity.
