Shellfish Aquaculture

Shellfish Aquaculture is the farming and harvesting of various species of mollusks, including clams, oysters, and scallops, in order to produce a sustainable source of seafood. This sustainable form of fisheries production has numerous environmental benefits, including protection of natural ecosystems, restoration of coastal habitats, and improved water quality. Shellfish aquaculture can also help meet the growing global demand for seafood, making it an economically viable and important component of marine-based agriculture. Furthermore, shellfish aquaculture has the potential to create jobs, drive economic development and bolster coastal communities.
