Marine Conservation

Marine conservation is the protection of marine ecosystems and organisms that live in the ocean. Marine conservation aims to protect species, habitats, and ecosystems from being degraded by human actions such as fishing, pollution, and climate change. By preserving the health of ecosystems, marine conservationist hope to sustain the long-term resilience of the ocean and all the life it supports. Marine conservationists use a range of techniques such as marine reserves, sustainable fisheries, and pollution controls to protect ocean wildlife. Not only do these techniques support ocean biodiversity, they also provide many benefits such as a healthier seafood supply, improved recreational opportunities and a stronger global economy. Marine conservation is vital to a healthy ocean and planet.
