Industrial Aquaculture

Industrial aquaculture is a type of aquaculture that produces fish and shellfish in a highly regulated, intensive farming environment. Industrial aquaculture is used to support commercial fishing and supply food products to the world's population. It is also a major source of economic activity in coastal communities. Benefits of industrial aquaculture include increased efficiency in production, lower costs, improved food safety, and better overall sustainability and management of the aquatic environment. Industrial aquaculture can be used to maintain fish stocks, restore native populations, and provide habitat enhancement. Additionally, it has been used to increase the production of high-value fishes, such as salmon, tuna, and other species that are in high demand. Industrial aquaculture is an environmentally friendly and economically viable way to produce fish and shellfish worldwide.
