Global Aquaculture Alliance

The Global Aquaculture Alliance (GAA) is a non-profit organization dedicated to creating sustainable, responsible aquaculture around the world. The organization works to promote responsible aquaculture through research, education, and advocacy. This is important because aquaculture helps meet the growing demand for seafood, while conserving wild fish resources, providing food security, and supporting healthy aquatic environments. GAA works to ensure that safe, equitable, and efficient practices are adopted by the aquaculture industry worldwide. GAA's partnerships and initiatives support various projects such as research, certification systems, best-practice guidelines and advocacy efforts to reach aquaculture farmers and industry stakeholders. GAA's work also promotes responsible seafood consumption and encourages sustainable seafood production as well as environmental stewardship.
