Aquaculture Nutrition
Aquaculture nutrition is the study of providing nutritionally balanced diets for farmed aquatic species, such as fish, shellfish, and aquatic plants. This research focuses on the requirements of different aquatic species and the dietary components necessary for their health and productivity, such as proteins, essential fatty acids, vitamins, and minerals. Aquaculture nutrition is an important factor in the success of aquaculture, and plays a role in ensuring the health, growth, and well-being of aquatic species while also increasing production and profit. By understanding the nutritional needs of aquatic species, aquaculturists are able to achieve better yields, maintain water quality, and reduce disease and mortality.
