Neomycins

Neomycin is an antibiotic found in many topical, oral and injectable medications. It is a member of the aminoglycoside class of antibiotics, which is a group of antibiotics that work by preventing the growth of bacteria. Neomycin is effective against a variety of common bacterial infections, most notably skin and eye infections. It has also been found to be effective in treating certain forms of diarrhea caused by certain strains of E. coli. This medication is generally well tolerated with few side effects. When used correctly, neomycin is an invaluable tool in the management of bacterial infections.
