Antiprotozoal Agents

Antiprotozoal agents are medications used to treat diseases caused by protozoa, which are single-celled organisms. These agents work by killing the protozoa or preventing them from reproducing or growing. They can help to treat infections such as malaria, giardiasis, and amoebiasis. Antiprotozoal agents are important medications for treating a variety of infections and are commonly used in tropical and subtropical countries, where protozoan infections are more common. They can also be used to treat long-term conditions such as cystinuria and congenital toxoplasmosis.
