Acinetobacter

baumannii Acinetobacter baumannii is a Gram-negative, non-spore forming bacterium commonly found in soil and water, and is an important opportunistic pathogen in humans. It is the leading cause of nosocomial infections, most commonly in intensive care units, and is resistant to many antibiotics. A. baumannii can cause a variety of infections, including meningitis, pneumonia, bloodstream infections and wound infections, and is especially dangerous to those with weakened immune systems. It is of great significance to public health and its prevention and treatment is of paramount importance.
