Social Determinants of Health
Social determinants of health refer to the social and economic conditions in which people live that have a major impact on their health. These conditions and circumstances influence a wide range of health outcomes, including rates of illness and mortality, access to health care, and overall quality of life. Examples of social determinants of health include housing, education, income, employment, and access to social services. Improving social determinants of health is essential to creating healthier communities that can reduce health disparities and improve overall health outcomes.
