Animal Models

Animal models are the use of other animals to study and understand the behaviour, biology and functions of humans. They are important tools in biomedical research that allow us to study diseases and treatments in a controlled environment while also reducing the risk to humans. Animal models can also be used to test the safety and efficacy of new drugs, procedures and treatments before they are tested in humans. Animal models are also used as a way to study the functioning of the human body and to understand the underlying processes that cause diseases.
