Overview
Child development refers to the biological, psychological, and emotional changes that occur in human beings from birth through adolescence, encompassing physical growth, cognitive maturation, and social-emotional capacities. Research published in this journal addresses multiple dimensions of child development with particular attention to nutritional determinants and health service delivery in diverse global contexts. Studies examine growth monitoring practices, including the roles of mothers and caregivers in health facilities, and investigate risk factors for stunted growth in rural populations. The relationship between household economic status and micronutrient deficiencies has been explored through national-level survey data, alongside specific investigations of vitamin A deficiency and its ocular manifestations in preschool children. Research also addresses feeding practices for young children and treatment approaches for severe acute malnutrition. Beyond physical health, published work explores mental health promotion through community-based interventions for school-aged children and examines the application of music therapy in health services. Additional studies analyze child mortality patterns using multilevel statistical models and assess prenatal nutrition service utilization. This body of research underscores the multifactorial nature of child development and the importance of integrated approaches spanning nutrition, healthcare access, and psychosocial support across different populations and settings.
