Small Intestine

The small intestine is a long, tube-shaped organ located between the stomach and the large intestine. It plays an essential role in digestion and has several important functions. It absorbs nutrients from food, absorbs water and electrolytes, and breaks down carbohydrates and proteins into their smaller components. Furthermore, it produces hormones and enzymes that aid digestion. It is also the main site in the body where bile is produced. The small intestine is a crucial part of the digestive system and has a major impact on overall health.
