Protein Metabolism
Protein metabolism refers to how the body breaks down and uses proteins. Proteins are large biomolecules composed of amino acid chains and are essential for a variety of functions, such as muscle and tissue repair and the production of hormones and enzymes. When proteins are broken down, they create energy and new building blocks for cells. Protein metabolism is regulated by enzymes and nutrients such as vitamins, minerals and other nutrients and is essential for normal functioning of the body. Protein metabolism helps to maintain a healthy body weight and is important for muscle growth and strength. It is also involved in the processes of cell division and repair. Without the proper proteins, the body cannot function properly.
