Retinitis Pigmentosa
Retinitis Pigmentosa (RP) is a genetic disorder that gradually leads to decreased vision and sometimes blindness. It affects the light-sensitive cells in the retina, located in the back of the eye. Over time, patients can experience difficulty seeing in dim light, peripheral vision loss and night blindness. The progression of the disease can vary and currently, there is no cure. However, there are several treatments and devices available to help maintain and improve vision in people with RP. Early detection is key to preserving maximum possible vision.
