Mites

Mites are tiny invertebrate animals related to spiders, with most species ranging in size from 0.1 to 0.5 mm. They are important in numerous ecosystems due to their ecological roles, such as scavengers, predators, and parasites. Furthermore, they play an important role in pollination and decomposition, and are used in the commercial production of certain foods and beverages, such as cheese and wine. Mites are also the most common arachnid pests found in homes, and can cause skin irritation and respiratory reactions. Because of this, many researchers are studying mites in order to develop better methods for pest control.
