Floral Meristem

Floral meristems are small clusters of cells located at the apex of stems and flowers in plants. They are responsible for the development of all the floral organs in plants, and their main role is to produce floral organ differentiation. They play a major role in the process of flower production, since without them, the flowers could not be formed. In addition to their structural impact, floral meristems are also known for their commercial significance, as they are responsible for ensuring higher crop yields for many agricultural crops. In modern agriculture, the development of genetic engineering and biotechnologies has also allowed scientists to manipulate these structures in order to improve crop yields and also to create genetically modified crops.
