Familial Hypercholesterolemia

Familial hypercholesterolemia (FH) is an inherited condition in which individuals have higher than normal levels of cholesterol. FH is important to recognize and treat, as it can lead to a number of serious health problems, including heart disease and stroke. Individuals with FH can lower their cholesterol levels and reduce their risk of health problems by making lifestyle changes and using medications. Early diagnosis and treatment can help individuals with FH lower their cholesterol levels, preventing or delaying the onset of serious health problems.
