Evolutionary Genetics

Evolutionary genetics is the study of genetic aspects of evolution, including the processes by which genetic variation arises and is maintained, how this variation is structured, and how it contributes to the diversity of life forms on Earth. It has implications for the conservation of species, understanding of human diseases, and the development of new treatments and technologies. By considering how traits are inherited, and how they change over time, evolutionary genetics uncovers the role of genetics in the evolutionary process. It also helps to explain how species can adapt to changing environments and how they can be preserved. Evolutionary genetics is essential to understand how species have evolved, and how they may continue to adapt in the future.
