Deoxyribonucleases

Deoxyribonucleases (DNases) are a type of enzyme involved in DNA metabolism. DNases are essential for a wide range of biological processes, such as DNA replication, repair, recombination, and transcription. They cleave phosphodiester bonds of the DNA backbone, breaking up the molecule into smaller fragments. DNases are used in many biotechnological applications, such as DNA sequencing, gene cloning and targeted gene editing. Additionally, their ability to cleave and degrade DNA has been employed in medical diagnostics and antiviral therapies. The use of DNases as tools for understanding and manipulating DNA has contributed greatly to the advancement of modern biotechnology.
