Databases and Ontologies
A database is a collection of data organized into a structured format and served to facilitate access or update of the data by users. Ontologies are a computer-aided formal representation of a set of concepts and relationships in a particular domain of knowledge. Databases and ontologies are important in the field of data management, providing answers to complex queries and allowing for more efficient data retrieval. They are increasingly being used in various applications, from medical and health sciences to natural language processing and machine learning. Ontologies are particularly useful for knowledge management tasks and have been applied in fields such as computational biology and bioinformatics. Through the use of ontologies, users are able to access and use knowledge in a more intuitive and efficient manner. Moreover, ontologies allow for improved search results and better understanding of the domain knowledge.
