Cotransfection

Cotransfection is a technique used to introduce multiple types of genetic material into a living cell at the same time. It is often used in research to study gene expression, protein production, and protein-protein interactions. It is also used in biotechnology applications such as the production of recombinant proteins, viral and plasmid vectors, and gene therapy. Cotransfection can increase efficiency over traditional transfection methods, making it a valuable tool for researchers and biotech professionals. Additionally, the use of cotransfection can generate cell lines with specific characteristics and may even be used to generate cellular models of diseases for better understanding and investigation.
