Behavioural Genetics
Behavioural Genetics is a field of study that investigates the influence of genetic factors on behaviour. This includes the effects of genetic variation on behaviour, the interaction between genetics and the environment, and the role of genetic variants in the development of behavioural traits. By studying the influence of genetics on behaviour, researchers are better able to understand why individuals may exhibit variation in behaviour, and how genetic factors interact with other environmental factors to create individual differences in behaviour. This understanding can be used to develop interventions and treatments for issues such as autism and mental health disorders, and to inform public policies on issues such as education, crime and health.
