Entomopathogenic Fungi

Entomopathogenic fungi are a group of fungi that parasitize insects, resulting in their death. In nature, they play an important role in population control of insect pests. As a result, entomopathogenic fungi are increasingly being considered as a biological control agent in the integrated pest management of crop and stored food products. The fungi can be used in a variety of ways, such as through the application of fungal spores or through the release of pathogens in a form of a mist or spray. Furthermore, entomopathogenic fungi can also be used to make products that can be used by farmers and pest controllers to manipulate insect populations. This can help reduce the need for more harmful chemical pesticides.
