Nutrition Food Security
Nutrition Food Security is the ability of a population to sustain itself nutritionally and to have access to an adequate and safe food supply. It is an increasingly important issue in a world where the number of people in need of food aid is growing and global food shortages are a persistent problem. It is essential for good health and well-being, and is strongly linked to poverty, hunger, and malnutrition, as well as a range of other factors. Nutrition Food Security is important for everyone, but especially for vulnerable and at-risk populations, such as children and women, who are more likely to suffer from malnutrition. Governments and international organizations have taken steps to improve Nutrition Food Security, such as by developing policies, initiatives, and programs that promote access to food and nutrition for all, such as the World Health Organization's Nutrition for Health and Development Program. In addition, increased attention to the issue of Nutrition Food Security has led to the development of global food-based approaches to improving nutrition, such as the Sustainable Development Goals, which include targets to reduce malnutrition, especially in children, and to promote safe and nutritious foods.
