Food Processing
Food processing is a critical process of transforming raw ingredients into food that can be eaten. It involves changing the physical and chemical properties of food through a variety of methods including heating, freezing, grinding, blending and preserving. This type of processing helps to improve the shelf-life, taste, texture and convenience of food. Additionally, food processing helps to reduce the risk of bacteria formation, minimizing the risk of foodborne illnesses. Food processing is used to manufacture a wide range of products including beverages, canned goods, frozen meals, and even ingredients for other products. Many foods that are processed are also fortified with vitamins and minerals to make them more nutritious. Therefore, food processing plays an important role in the production of safe and nutritious food.
