Fetal Heart Rate
Fetal heart rate (FHR) is the number of heart beats per minute that a baby's heart makes inside the womb during pregnancy. FHR monitoring is an important prenatal diagnostic tool used to assess a baby's fetal well-being. By measuring the baby's heart rate, healthcare providers can determine if the baby is experiencing cardiac problems or if the baby is in distress during labor, delivery, or before birth. Additionally, FHR monitoring can be used to identify pregnancies that may be at risk for complications such as preterm birth. Early detection of these risks through FHR monitoring can lead to improved outcomes for both mother and baby.
