Fetal Diagnosis
Fetal diagnosis is the practice of making medical diagnoses or assessments of the health of a fetus prenatally. These tests involve looking at the fetus’ organs and body systems to detect any malformations or abnormalities. Fetal diagnosis can be conducted through multiple methods, including ultrasound, amniocentesis and chorionic villus sampling. The information provided by these tests can be used to assess the health of the fetus, provide an early detection of genetic or congenital abnormalities, and monitor the growth and development of the fetus. Fetal diagnosis is an important tool for obstetricians and midwives to provide care for pregnant women and their babies.
