Overview
Assisted Reproductive Techniques (ART) are methods used to treat infertility in humans. These techniques involve the use of medical technologies to physically assist with or facilitate the reproductive process. ART can help people who struggle to conceive naturally, or those with certain medical conditions, to become biological parents. The most common ART techniques involve collecting eggs and sperm from either partner and manually combining them in a laboratory. The embryos are then transferred to the female's uterus to achieve pregnancy. ART has been extremely successful in helping couples around the world become parents, and has profoundly improved the quality of life of those who struggle with infertility.
