Overview
Agribusiness is the collective term for businesses involved in the production, distribution, and processing of food, fiber, and other agricultural products. It includes all aspects of the global food supply chain from the farm to the consumer. Agribusiness helps to provision consumers with the resources they need while maintaining a sustainable global food supply. It functions as a backbone of the agricultural industry due to the many services it provides, including improved seed development, soil management, pest control, animal husbandry, agri-finance, marketing of agricultural products, and the transport and storage of goods. Agribusiness also plays an important role in the global economy based on the many applications available to farmers, such as the use of precise technologies, precision agriculture, and increased investment in the agricultural sector.
