Traditional Chinese Medicine
Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) is an ancient form of health practice that has been used for more than 2,000 years. It focuses on prevention and holistic treatment of physical, mental, and emotional conditions and uses a variety of treatments such as herbal medicines, acupuncture, dietary advice, and tai chi or qigong exercise. The main aim of TCM is to balance the body’s energy, referred to as 'chi' or 'qi' and to promote good health and wellbeing. TCM is used to treat a range of conditions including asthma, eczema, headaches, joint pain, depression, and anxiety, among many others. TCM offers a holistic approach to health that can be used in tandem with more traditional methods. It is one of the most popular alternatives to conventional medicine and is widely accepted in many countries around the world.
