Global Warming

Global warming is a long-term increase in the average temperature of the Earth’s climate system. It is caused by increasing concentrations of greenhouse gases in the atmosphere, mainly due to human activities such as burning fossil fuels, deforestation, and agricultural practices. Global warming has far-reaching effects on ecosystems, weather, ocean levels, and human health. Effects include increased temperatures, increased extreme weather events, rising sea levels, ocean acidification, and changes in the frequency and intensity of drought and flooding. It also has significant economic and social consequences, such as shifting agriculture towards more water-intensive crops and the need for rapid adaptation and migration from areas affected by rising sea levels. Climate change mitigation and adaptation strategies are essential to reduce the impacts of global warming.
