Induced Pluripotent Stem Cells
Induced pluripotent stem cells (iPSCs) are adult cells that have been genetically reprogrammed to behave like embryonic stem cells (ESCs). They are capable of self-renewal, indefinite proliferation, and differentiation into all cell types. This makes them a promising tool in regenerative medicine, drug discovery, and cell-based therapies. Additionally, by bypassing ethical issues associated with embryonic stem cells, iPSCs can help reduce barriers in medical research.
