Global Warming

Global Warming is a phenomenon wherein the Earth's average surface temperature rises due to increasing atmospheric concentrations of greenhouse gases, such as water vapor, carbon dioxide, methane and nitrous oxide. This phenomenon is driving changes in the climate, like more extreme weather events, sea level rise, melting glaciers and Arctic sea ice, and droughts. Global Warming has large implications, from affecting the livelihoods of people and communities all over the world to having economic impacts. It is important for societies to work together to reduce the amount of greenhouse gases that are released into the atmosphere, to decrease the rate and magnitude of global warming, and to mitigate its effects.
