Environmental Degradation
Environmental degradation is the deterioration of the environment through depletion of resources such as air, water, and soil; the destruction of ecosystems; and the extinction of wildlife. It is caused by human activities such as burning of fossil fuels, over-farming, and deforestation, leading to climate change, air pollution, and loss of biodiversity. Climate change, in turn, can lead to more extreme weather events such as heatwaves, floods, and droughts, further exacerbating the effects of environmental degradation. This has significant implications for human health and well-being, as reduced air quality, contaminated water resources, and loss of habitats can all impact our ability to survive and thrive. To address these issues, sustainable practices must be adopted, such as reducing our dependence on fossil fuels and improving the efficiency of land and water use.
