Insulin

Insulin is a hormone produced by the pancreas that is critical for regulating the body's levels of glucose, or sugar. It helps the body use glucose for energy and also to store excess glucose in the liver and muscle cells for future use. It is essential for normal metabolism, growth, and development and is used to treat diabetes. People with diabetes do not produce enough insulin to keep their blood sugar levels in check, so they need to take insulin injections or use an insulin pump to supplement their body's natural production. Insulin is one of the most commonly used medications for diabetes, helping patients maintain their blood sugar levels, preventing serious health problems and enhancing their quality of life.
