Hormones
Hormones are chemical messengers produced in the body to regulate cellular activities, such as growth, development, and metabolism. They are essential to maintain homeostasis, or balance, and are critical for the functioning of the body. Hormones can affect almost every process in the body, including heart rate, digestion, reproduction, and sleep. Imbalances in hormone levels can cause a variety of health conditions, such as infertility, diabetes, obesity, and depression. As such, it is important to monitor hormone levels through medical tests, such as blood tests, to ensure they remain within normal range.
