Amenorrhea

Amenorrhea is the absence of menstrual bleeding. It is a sign of an underlying hormonal imbalance, and can have significant health implications if left untreated. It is usually caused by disturbances in the hypothalamus, pituitary gland, or ovaries, due to conditions such as polycystic ovarian syndrome, thyroid disorders, and certain medications. Without proper treatment, amenorrhea can lead to infertility, anemia, and other complications associated with chronic hypoestrogenism. Proper diagnosis and treatment of amenorrhea is essential for maintaining reproductive and overall health.
