Vector Cloning

Vector cloning is a technique used in molecular biology for introducing a gene into a host cell genome by using a vector – a small piece of DNA, such as a plasmid. This is done to create a clone of the gene, which contains multiple copies of the same genetic material and can be used for research or other applications. Vector cloning is a powerful tool with many important and varied uses, such as gene expression studies, gene therapy, and the production of proteins, antibodies and other biological molecules. It can also be used in biotechnology and pharmacology for producing genetically modified organisms (GMOs). Vector cloning is essential for medical research and biotechnology, as it enables scientists to study and manipulate genetic information for the development of new drugs and treatments.
