Retroviruses

Retroviruses are a group of viruses that contain RNA as their genetic material instead of DNA. They can infect a wide range of hosts, including vertebrates, insects, and plants. Retroviruses are important as they can cause many diseases, such as HIV/AIDS, and can be used to deliver therapeutic gene modifications in gene therapy. They are also used by scientists to study the molecular biology of gene expression, as well as in biotechnology applications such as gene transfer for crop improvement.

DNA, is like a blueprint of biological guidelines that a living organism must follow to exist and remain functional. RNA, helps carry out this blueprint's guidelines. RNA is more versatile than DNA, capable of performing numerous, diverse tasks in an organism, however DNA is more stable and holds more complex information for longer periods of time.
