Overview
Restriction Fragment Length Polymorphism (RFLP) Analysis is a technique used in molecular biology to identify DNA sequences that are different between two individuals or species. It is based on the fact that the same regions of DNA will be cut into different sized fragments by restriction enzymes, depending on the particular genetic sequences they contain. This technique is used to diagnose genetic diseases, to study gene expression, to map and screen DNA libraries, and to identify bacteria, fungi, and viruses. RFLP Analysis is a powerful tool in many areas of genetic research and its applications are of great significance in the fields of genetics and biotechnology.
