Potyvirus
Potyvirus is a very common virus family that is responsible for diseases on a wide range of plants, including cereal crops, vegetables, fruits, ornamentals, and turf. Potyviruses cause significant economic losses in the agricultural industry, both in terms of crop yield and quality. Potyvirus infections can lead to yellowing, stunting, and reduced vigour of infected plants. Affected plants may also be prone to other diseases, leading to further reduction in yields. Control efforts rely on chemical treatments, as well as identification and removal of infected plants. The development of resistant varieties is limited by the wide genetic diversity of Potyviruses.

DNA, is like a blueprint of biological guidelines that a living organism must follow to exist and remain functional. RNA, helps carry out this blueprint's guidelines. RNA is more versatile than DNA, capable of performing numerous, diverse tasks in an organism, however DNA is more stable and holds more complex information for longer periods of time.
