Cardiovascular Disease Risk
Cardiovascular Disease (CVD) is the leading cause of death globally, accounting for more than 17.2 million deaths every year. CVD Risk is the likelihood of developing a cardiovascular disease like heart attack, stroke or other cardiovascular conditions. CVD Risk factors include age, lifestyle habits like smoking, physical inactivity, poor diet, high cholesterol, hypertension, diabetes, and obesity as well as hereditary factors. CVD Risk assessments are important for identifying individuals at high risk of CVD and to provide tailored interventions to reduce the risk of developing cardiovascular diseases. Risk assessment may include physical activity and lifestyle modifications, medications and laboratory tests. Early detection and management of CVD Risk factors are essential for preventing the development of CVD and its associated complications.
