Gastrointestinal Disorders
Gastrointestinal (GI) disorders are a group of conditions that affect the system of organs responsible for digestion. These include the esophagus, stomach, small intestine, large intestine, rectum, and anus. Common GI disorders include ulcerative colitis, Crohn’s disease, irritable bowel syndrome, gastroesophageal reflux disease, and constipation. When left untreated, GI disorders can cause other health issues such as malnutrition, dehydration, and organ damage. Treatment of GI disorders may involve diet, lifestyle changes, medication, or surgery. Improving the awareness of GI disorders can help individuals with the condition live fulfilling and healthy lives.
