Skin Lesion
A skin lesion is an area of abnormal skin that can be caused by a number of conditions such as injury, infections, allergic reactions, autoimmune disorders, and skin cancer. These lesions can range in size, shape and color and are often itchy or painful. Diagnosing and monitoring skin lesions is important for detecting and treating skin diseases, as well as preventing and managing skin cancers. Skin lesions can be monitored through regular physical examinations and digital photos, which can be compared over time to detect changes that could indicate a more serious condition.
