Photodynamic Therapy
Photodynamic Therapy (PDT) is a type of treatment that uses light activated medicines to fight cancer. The solution is injected into the patient, and then a special light is used to activate the medicine, which is then released directly at the tumor, destroying it. This therapy is less invasive than surgery, and has fewer side effects, making it a very attractive option for people with certain cancers. PDT has been used to treat conditions such as skin cancer, head and neck cancer, esophageal cancer, and bladder cancer, among others. PDT also has potential for treating other diseases such as macular degeneration and psoriasis. The use of PDT is increasing across the world, and it offers a promising option for the fight against cancer.
